Wine is for Lovers: Alison and Greg’s Real Wedding!

May 17, 2017

Together, they have visited over 130 wineries in Virginia, California, New York, and Oregon and can trace their family history back to the Revolutionary War. They did not meet until they were 27, but grew up 10 minutes away from each other attending rival high schools and if that isn’t fate, I am not sure what is! The details of their wedding were well thought out, both in design and food and beverage. Guests raved all night about their dining experience before they hit the dancefloor. Their love is palpable through their wedding day photos and we can’t wait to reach out to Alison and Greg and get some wine recommendations! Happy Wedding Wednesday!

Love Illuminated – Real Wedding of Susie & Christopher

February 2, 2017

So much inspiration came from the brides planning background in donor realtions. Inspiration taken from the Mauritshuis and the Lange Voorhout Palace (where the bride had planned past events.) This couple was on a mission to find something that had a similar look and feel. They ended up with two gorgous locations with similar attributes: St. Regis Hotel Washington DC and the iconoic Dalgreen Chapel. They were nothing short of perfection. The bouquets of baby’s breath and the wedding programs were a few of the brides favortie details. This wedding speaks volumnes to a timeless look, and we love the traditional elements. As the bride and groom sealed their marriage with a kiss, the 6:00 p.m. sun illuminated the whole chapel through the large stained glass window above the altar!

Organic Wedding with an International Touch

November 30, 2016

Kate and Andrew met in Washington, D.C. in 2013 and were immediately drawn to each other. They dated long distance for two years, before moving in together in New York City. Andrew proposed to Kate while on vacation in Capri, Italy and they began their search for a unique wedding venue that would be the perfect fit for the joining of their large Catholic and Jewish families. Both lovers of art, they were drawn to the Arts Club in Washington, and it was the perfect location for their special day, as Kate is also an art therapist. After their spring engagement session in Central Park, we couldn’t wait for their summer wedding! They shared a first look at the Tudor Gardens before heading to the Arts Club to say I Do. They were married by Andrew’s aunts, and included many family heirlooms and both Jewish and Italian wedding traditions throughout the day. Kate and Andrew had been learning a special tango to surprise their wedding guests with, and when we heard about this at their engagement shoot, we had been anticipating this big reveal for months- all their hard work really paid off!

Spring Chevy Chase Club Wedding

April 7, 2014

Sarah and Chad’s black tie spring wedding was full of beauty! Despite the rain, rose petals and candlelight made for a romantic indoor ceremony at the Chevy Chase Club. The reception, in the same place, featured a southern menu with fried chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, and crab cakes and local VA oysters. The groom’s cake gave homage to Chad’s favorite team, the Boston Red Sox.  The couple treated guests later in the evening to custom-made cigars and matches, along with mini ice cream cones on the dance floor. Pretty, pretty, pretty!
