At District Weddings, I certainly love showing you beautiful D.C. area weddings. Yet, as you all know, inspiration is everywhere and this week, I have Duke University, my alma mater, on my mind. With homecoming and alumni reunions this month, I am delighted to share Caitlin and Kevin’s wedding with you which took place last fall at the special place that they met, Duke.
Caitlin got ready at the beautiful Washington Duke Inn, known to most students, parents and locals as the WaDuke. Despite the rainy day, Caitlin was absolutely radiant!!
The ceremony was in the famous Duke Chapel, where couples have to book their wedding day well over a year in advance — and even camp out for a chance to be married there!
After the nuptials, guests, family and the wedding party headed back to the Washington Duke Inn to celebrate. I especially love the cake that incorporates Duke’s gothic architecture.
I may have seen this years ago at a frat party or two, but these guys can still get wild and fratty — wow!
