Bride Blogger Catherine was married this past weekend and I am dying to hear all about it! Yet, until she returns home to D.C. after the honeymoon, I supposed we will have to wait…In the meantime, here is her fun story behind their band!

My fiancé (now husband!) and I wanted to have a lively dance party during the reception, so we decided to put a lot of thought into choosing the right music.
Music is what drives the energy of the night, so know in advance what your dancing preference is. Because music was so important to us, we decided to hire a band — one of the best decisions we made.
There are so many talented local bands, which means you have the opportunity to find one to fit your style! We were very fortunate to have heard about Doctor’s Orders, part of the Bialek’s Music group.
We knew the moment that we watched their promo videos online that they were a perfect complement to our vision. The song that sold us: Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a prayer.” What made us love them more was being able to meet them and to see them perform at local wedding planning events.
We were able to avoid songs that we didn’t like and to highlight ones that we love. When choosing music, think of your guests, the rhythm of the songs, and be flexible. Your favorite song might not fit the mood of the party; so save it for your iPod and trust the band’s selection.
We were so excited to hear the variety of hits that the band chose for us. The dancefloor was always full and the party was full of energy. And the last song of the night was the song that sold us in the first place: “Livin’ on a Prayer.” The perfect ending to a perfect wedding.

Great to hear! We booked Doctor’s Orders for our June 2011 wedding. My finance is a great musician and he was really concerned with the actual musicality of the group. I thought they seemed like a lot of fun, and he thought they were actually awesome musicians. Great combo! Glad to see that you (and your guests) had an awesome time!
