We all know that Bride Blogger Kimberly‘s big day is just a few weeks away – Today, Kimberly tells us about her well-deserved spa time!

With my wedding just weeks away, I wanted to take some time to make sure that I would look and feel my best. What better way to do that than to schedule time for a facial and massage. I can’t think of a better way to get some me time! I asked friends and colleagues for recommendations on places to try, and here are a few that they suggested that might be worth a try.
The first place people recommended was Elizabeth Arden’s Red Door Salons. With 7 locations in the Metro area (2 – DC, 2- MD and 3 – VA), they offer a huge number of services including basic facials, their signature massage and body scrub treatments. Prices are very reasonable, beginning at 100 dollars.
The second place that I looked into was The Halcyon Days Spas. Conveniently located in Maryland and Virginia, this group offers both day spa and regular spa services. Their services are a bit pricey (150 and up for basic services like massages and facials), but totally worth it if you’re looking for a nice way to splurge.
The final place I investigated was Ted gibson Salon @ Hela Spa in Chevy Chase. Known for his regular appearances on Oprah, The Today Show and What Not to Wear, Ted is bringing a taste of NYC to DC. From Facial Treatments and Peels, nail services all the way to expert dermatologist services, Hela has everything you could ever need or want under one roof. Hela also has a convenient location in Georgetown.

I decided to give Hela a spin for a facial and massage. For my facial, I signed up to try The Lena Ohlin treatment, which is great for sensitive skins, and also includes gentle extractions, calming mask and an intense hydration treatment. After 50 minutes of pure bliss, (and literally having to peel me off the table) I was whisked me off to their massage area where I received one of the best massages I have ever had!
I chose The Lappand, which is a combination of The Stockholm service (Swedish Massage) while adding hot stones to your treatment. For 50 minutes, I zoned out, and when they finished I didn’t have a care in the world. Total for both services was 245 (not including tip), which I felt was so very much worth it. This is something that will totally do again before wedding day and one that I totally recommend for every bride to be!
