There are few things I love more than putting together a fabulous welcome bag to kick off a wedding weekend! Okay, I do also love fabulous stationery, incredible floral arrangements, gorgeous shoes…but, welcome bags are definitely one of the items at the top of my lust list. Today, Julia shares with us about her finds as her final post as a single woman…
District Weddings has a great blog post about Virginia/DC themed welcome baskets written by another former bride blogger. I used a lot of the ideas from Sarah Christine and added a few of my own.
I wanted our bags to reflect “Virginia.” Both my fiancé and I have been in Virginia since age 3 and 5, so we consider it home. After an extensive search of the internet (which was NOT filled with helpful information) I found this great resource. It is a list of all of the companies and contact info of products made in Virginia. Go here and click “Made in Virginia Products” to download the PDF.
We ended up with:
Hubbies Virginia Peanuts, Route 11 chips, Chesapeake Bay Seasoning, Virginia water from Wegmans, VA is for Lovers Postcard, Honey made in Clifton, Capitals pen & decal (ok, not from VA, but we’re fans!), aspirin (ok, also not from VA, but a necessity!), a box of chocolates and a schedule for the weekend.
My soon to be mother-in-law embossed the bags and added her own personal touch. I can’t wait to hear the feedback!
You probably won’t hear from me until after my honeymoon, as our wedding is only 5 days away and as you can imagine, things are a little nuts! So, my next post I’ll be a Mrs.
Wishing Julia an incredible wedding weekend and relaxing and restful honeymoon! ox.
