Despite the happy bubbly feelings we get when we talk about wedding planning, reality says that there are likely going to be a few bumps along the way. Last week, Marybeth told us about a challenge that she was facing…but by this week, it looks like things are back on the up and up!

Normally when you hear about wedding blues you think of something borrowed and something blue, or maybe post-wedding blues. Recently I’ve encountered a different kind of wedding blue – the pre-wedding blues and after doing some research (Googling and talking to friends), I don’t think I’m alone.
Getting engaged is such a high – the sparkly ring, champagne, congratulatory happy hours. Next comes the daydreaming about dresses and other fun planning details. Then the actual planning starts, and somewhere along the way it seems many people are struck with what I am calling the wedding blues: a period in your wedding planning where nothing goes right, and planning becomes more of a burden then a celebration of your love.
Last week I wrote about our hiccup with the church. Add to that difficulty finding bridesmaid dresses, a new job, a new apartment and no time to work on save the dates or other wedding details and I had a case of the wedding blues. Nothing, it seemed, was going my way. I dwelled on everything going wrong and got in a major wedding funk. I had no interest in talking about anything wedding related, let alone actually tackling items on our to do list.
Luckily, just as I was really depressed about all topics wedding, things began to fall into place. In the past week our engagement photos arrived, we found a new church and ordered two great bridesmaid dress options. Below are a few sneak peeks of the things that made me not so blue and in the coming weeks I will share more details.
