A Cultural Soirée – Real Wedding of Amar and Seema

May 4, 2016

“We are a couple that met a few years ago and endured a long distance relationship between DC and Texas before our wedding. Amar created an elaborate scavenger hunt leading Seema throughout DC with friends and family waiting at every stop for his proposal. That kicked off a year of planning their dream wedding.” – Seema Patel

Their vision was to have an upscale luxury DC wedding with the casual touches of the groom’s Texas background while highlighting the importance of culture.

The ceremony was traditionally indian starting off with the jaan where the groom’s family dances their way up to the ceremony entrance and the bride’s family welcomes them. The couple was inspired by the idea of a royal indian wedding choosing jewel tones for the ceremony colors. After the ceremony, the emotional vidaii happened where the bride’s family gives her away to the groom officially.

The reception inspiration was a classy DC dinner party. Classic colors were chosen including rose gold, black and white. Rose gold sequin table cloths were used with crystal candelabras, black lamps and white calla lilies. During the reception, the couple wanted to marry their two cities with themes from both DC and Houston. Each table had a DC metro sign which corresponded with the metro ticket table card that each guest received. Their families did a flash dance with cowboy hats to bring in some Texas flair!

Wollam Garden’s + a design team of experts!

March 3, 2016

As a flower farm located just 60 miles outside of Washington, DC, Wollam Gardens has been a longtime friend of the wedding industry. With the skilled help of local artist, David Braun, Wollam Gardens is now home to a beautiful event pavilion that is located in the middle of the farm’s lush gardens and natural beauty. For Wollam Garden’s official debut of this new wedding pavilion, we crafted a delicate and graceful design based on the pavilion’s natural palette, accenting the venue’s acres of flowers and artfully handcrafted architecture. A dream team of DC & Northern Virginia vendors came together to bring our vision to life. Sweet Root Village effortlessly created stunning floral displays using flowers from Wollam Gardens rolling gardens. Their mixture of graceful cascades over the pavilion entryways and flowing centerpieces adorning the luncheon tables brought a light touch of color to the earthy pavilion’s salvaged wood structure. Guests were treated to a light, farm-to-table inspired fare from Heirloom Catering, detailed on a hand designed menu from Shrimp Salad Circus.

The Power of Pantone

January 27, 2016

Inspired by Disney’s live version of the classic fairy tale “Cinderella” as well as the dreamy Pantone 2016 color of the year combination, we wanted to create a look that felt romantic, feminine, a bit whimsical, and completely timeless.  This team designed everything around the Pantone colors of Rose Quartz and Serenity,  silver, and that classic “Cinderella” blue that we all know and love, which created the most beautiful contrast against the stony grays of Airlie’s Spanish steps. They the chose silver accented place settings and candelabras that paired perfectly with the dainty paper goods designed by Twila & Co. Cakes in Art created a stunning dessert table featuring a duo of cakes and French macaroons, and the flowers designed by Succulents & Saffron brought in just the right amount of whimsy to really bring this a fairy tale to life!! Enlightened Styles crafted the perfect makeup for our gorgeous bride, who looked like a true princess in the gown provided by Ava Laurenne Bride. Every single detail of this magical day was captured by Stephanie Messick Photography.

Dazzling Duo! – Real Wedding of M+C

November 18, 2015

Vibrant creative energy meets modern glam! We love their choice of bold colors, especially the pops of pink throughout the reception, oh and the sparkles too. Just though the images you can tell how fun Mateya and Chris must have been. All their dear ones were in one place with exquisite food, wine, and the good times to be remembered and cherished in the many more years to come, especially the breakdancing, that will be unforgettable forever!
