Each week of the contest, which runs through March, A. Dominick Events will be on the Hitched blog to share a few planning tips – our favorite kind! Yes, I am intimately involved in this contest and hope that I can work with one of you on your big day!

My fiance and I wanted a DC wedding, not just a wedding that happened to be in DC. We are making the day uniquely us by marrying all of the things we love about DC with details from the other parts of our lives. For example, we both went to school in Chicago and we’re going to give all of the out of town guests bags of Garrett’s Popcorn. John and I also trained for the Marine Corps Marathon together right after we got engaged. We’re hoping to invite anyone who’s interested for a run on the mall on the Friday before our wedding. Sure, we love the monuments and the river, but for us DC is where we met, where our families are, and where we hope to build a family. The more we can do to make our guests feel at home in this city, the better.
