Well, summer is definitely winding down but there is good news ahead — with the fall, comes trunk shows – an amazing opportunity to get the dress of your dreams at a bargain price!

Today, I am shouting from the roof tops with incrdible news – this weekend, there is a HUGE sample sale at Carine’s!
One of the best ways to get the dress of your dreams at an affordable price is to shop at an oh-so-sacred sample sale! So, for all of you brides who are still looking for “it”, head to Carine’s Bridal Atelier, one of my favorites, this Sunday. And, please do report back – it is going to be fab-u-lous and I can’t wait to hear what you find!
Last week, we highlighted all of the fabulous upcoming wedding industry events here in the District.
To add to the list, on Sunday, Aveda/Adele Wechsler National Green Wedding initiative is coming to Washington to let brides know that they have green options for their special day!
Aveda beauty specialists will be offering brides-to-be and their guests a beauty countdown and hair and makeup tips for the big day. Adele Wechsler gowns will be presented because being eco-conscious does not mean sacrificing style. DC Brides can also taste wedding cake samples from Sticky Fingers Bakery, view global fair trade eco-jewelry from Alberto Parada and take in floral displays from Park Florist.

Before we get to today’s Real Wedding, I wanted to tell you about the 5th Annual Hitched Dress Drive to benefit Princess for a Night.
Beginning April 1st, and continuing throughout the month, Hitched invites you to stop by the salon to donate your gently worn (and dry cleaned) bridesmaid dresses (in all sizes!) that will go to students in our community. Due to the great expense of prom dresses, these girls might otherwise not be able to afford a dress for this special night.

Today’s Real Wedding is a fabulous example of a traditional wedding with flair. Mindy and Eric were married at St. Matthew’s Cathedral, followed by a reception at the St. Regis. The bride and groom described their wedding planning experience with Simply Chic Events as “fun and stress-free”, which is apparent in the photographs by Holland Photo Arts of this beautifully executed event.
