Sparks Fly – Real Wedding of K+A!

February 16, 2016

Kristen and Andrew’s wedding was an all-around beautiful affair! Who doesn’t love the iconic Willard Intercontinental Hotel located in the heart of D.C!  The couple opted for dramatic flowers, sequin linens, lots of candle votives, and not one, but TWO custom-made cakes to complement the spectacular décor of the Crystal Ballroom. Sparks flew all night between K+A and their amazing friends and family!

Black Tie Affair – Real Wedding of T+A

January 20, 2016

On Oct 17th, 2015, Taylor and Andrew had a picture perfect day at the Park Hyatt in DC. A gorgeous black tie affair, the love between these two was captivating. One of my favorite parts of the day (and how can you choose just one), was when Andrew saw his bride for the first time. The first look is always one my favorites moments of the day because it carries with it such anticipation. The nerves of the day are diminished once you see your bride or groom to be, and its just a wonderful feeling as a photographer, to see and capture that.” -MBK

Dazzling Duo! – Real Wedding of M+C

November 18, 2015

Vibrant creative energy meets modern glam! We love their choice of bold colors, especially the pops of pink throughout the reception, oh and the sparkles too. Just though the images you can tell how fun Mateya and Chris must have been. All their dear ones were in one place with exquisite food, wine, and the good times to be remembered and cherished in the many more years to come, especially the breakdancing, that will be unforgettable forever!

The Journey of Marriage – Real Wedding of N + S

October 21, 2015

When Sara from the Social Scene sat down with Nancy, she knew exactly what to give this family. A warm and welcoming event that felt like guests were attending an event at their home. This weeks real wedding is a bit different, it isn’t the first celebration of love for this couple, but rather a celebration of 15 fabulous years together with their children!

“EVERYONE should throw a “happily ever after” anniversary party to bring back the LOVE of your wedding day; sharing it with your children and the village that has helped you get there. MARRIAGE is a journey and should be celebrated OFTEN.” – Nancy.

We couldn’t agree more and we love this sweet celebration of Nancy and Sean! We had to share the sweet moments that Nancy shared with DW + Sara, because they were JUST that special.

  • Spending the day in the suite;  it was originally planned for our “little girls only” to get hair and makeup done, so they would feel extra special. But it turned into the ultimate pre-party for all my girlfriends, their daughters, and our out-of-town guests!
  • Sneaking into the room with my husband before everyone else could, so that we could soak in the magic and spin around on the dane floor.
  • Holding hands with each other and our kids and leading our friends & family into the room…..then turning around and watching all of their reactions!
  • Being blown away by my husband’s vows…again!

Modern Memories – Real Wedding of K + A

May 20, 2015

When you walked into Kristie + Andrew’s wedding, you felt completely at home. The couple assigned family members and friends to greet and welcome wedding guests upon their arrival at the Carnegie, creating a warm and inviting environment. With the music strumming familiar tunes and laughter humming, dancing children were plentiful.

A classic color palette of navy, champagne and gold was used throughout their attire and décor, while the flora featured succulents, pebbles, and Manzanita branches. In concert, these elements created a delicate juxtaposition between modern and rustic.

Kristie has a love for the written word, inspiring her to incorporate a unique font for her wedding day programs and signage. She also enlisted the hand-lettering skills of her new sister-in-law on her wedding invitations and escort cards.

We hope you enjoy this classic DC Wedding!
