A White Wedding – Real Wedding of Amanda and Brian

February 9, 2017

Amanda & Brian always knew when planning a January wedding that snow was a possibility, so they were delighted when the forecast called for a few inches! Despite the freezing temperatures, these two (and their wedding party!) braved the cold. Every detail from the elegant gold welcome mirror and hot cider bar to the oversized seating chart and branches dripping in florals proved that nothing went unthought. They chose plum and gold for the color scheme to warm up an otherwise chilly day! Guests enjoyed dancing the night away in the Carnegie rotunda.

Love Illuminated – Real Wedding of Susie & Christopher

February 2, 2017

So much inspiration came from the brides planning background in donor realtions. Inspiration taken from the Mauritshuis and the Lange Voorhout Palace (where the bride had planned past events.) This couple was on a mission to find something that had a similar look and feel. They ended up with two gorgous locations with similar attributes: St. Regis Hotel Washington DC and the iconoic Dalgreen Chapel. They were nothing short of perfection. The bouquets of baby’s breath and the wedding programs were a few of the brides favortie details. This wedding speaks volumnes to a timeless look, and we love the traditional elements. As the bride and groom sealed their marriage with a kiss, the 6:00 p.m. sun illuminated the whole chapel through the large stained glass window above the altar!

Jingle Bells – Real Wedding of M&R!

December 21, 2016

“Since we both love the holidays and got married a week before Christmas, that was our inspiration.  We wanted the wedding to feel very traditional and elegant, but also wanted it to feel like Christmas without focusing on red, green and snowflakes.  I had seen a picture of a holiday table scape with flowers in a Ginger jar on a tartan tablecloth and I immediately sent the picture to my mom, and said, lets make this happen!”

No way…how amazing!

Our limo driver was a guy named Don.  Our first date was at a National game.  When we left we couldn’t find a taxi and Rob saw Don staring in from of a 1960’s limo.  Rob asked if he was available and he was, so we paid $20 for Don to take us to a bar on Capitol Hill.  During the ride Don asked how long we were married.  We said it was our first date, by the end of the ride he said “You two are going to get married.  I know it.”  Rob proposed 9 months later at a Nationals game in the same spot where we first met.  When we walked out of the stadium Don was there to drive us home!  So, it was only natural that Don was there to drive us to our wedding.  Although, Rob forgot to tell Don to pick me up at the hotel to drive me to the church, so I had to take a taxi!

Bright and Beautiful Spring Wedding

November 9, 2016

On a gorgeous spring day, Jennifer and Jeffrey were married on the bride’s family estate: Jessamine Farm in Washington, VA. This at-home wedding oozes sentiment and style. They exchanged vows on the front porch of the main house and the manor’s long staircase was adorned with green garland designed by Holly Chapple. A fox motif was carried throughout the day on the invitations, escort cards, and a statue at the bottom of the staircase playfully adorned with a flower wreath. Guests enjoyed delicious watermelon quenchers as they arrived to the estate, and cocktail hour was later enjoyed on the back veranda where guests could mingle or explore the historic property. The reception was held under a sail cloth tent, which was decorated with lush greenery and bright coral and pink flowers. At the end of the evening, guests enjoyed desserts around the pool under the stars.
