With both an indoor and outdoor space available, the Textile Museum presents many different options for a truly memorable affair. The beautiful indoor space located just off the lobby of the building has the “feel of a grand old mansion” according to Katy Clune, the museum’s Communications and Marketing manager.

The historic building, which boasts “a black and white checkered marble floor and ceiling-height French doors” offers a spacious area to show off your décor.  Guests are also welcome to explore the museum during your event, giving the evening a sophisticated feel.

As if the elegant indoor space wasn’t enough, Katy gushes over the sprawling gardens behind the museum, which are failed with trees surrounding a pebbled courtyard. The gardens, which can accommodate up to 200, or 125 for a seated dinner, offer a unique view of the surrounding rooftops.

This museum’s exterior is constructed entirely of glass and features many terraces as well. These floor to ceiling windows excellently showcase the breathtaking city views and allow the chosen room décor to truly shine. Who wouldn’t want to get married on top of the city!

You can hold both your ceremony and reception at the Newseum, as there is no shortage of space in this expansive museum. The 7^th and 8^th floor conference centers are more intimate, accommodating up to 220 guests, while the main exhibit space is much larger. One of the many amazing features exclusive to a Newseum wedding is the rooftop terrace ceremony, which, weather permitting of course, will make your special day truly one of a kind.

The beautiful, sky-lit Atrium is an expansive space which is ideal for seated dinners and dancing, while the Bridge is an intimate balcony space that couple often use for cocktail receptions.

The Corcoran is a wonderful wedding venue because of its classic elegance and the versatility of the space.  The museum is also an ideal venue for art lovers – they even allow clients to open galleries during events, giving guests an exclusive private look at the Corcoran’s exhibitions.

Usually, the Corcoran is used as a reception site only; however, they can accommodate ceremonies for smaller groups (150 or fewer guests) with certain time restrictions.

The Corcoran works with an approved catering list, which includes a number of the District’s best full-service companies (including our District Favorite Occasions) who are familiar with the rules and regulations of the museum.  They do allow outside caterers to work at the Corcoran, provided that they partner with one of the companies on our approved list.

Listen to these absolutely perfect details… The signature cocktail?  The “Perfect Pair.”  The chuppah?  Suspended baby’s breath.  The first dance?  Acoustic Rihanna!  Don’t you wish you had been there?!?
