Between my love of supporting local businesses and eating delicious food, I am always on the hunt for a new favorite spot. Society Fair, located in Old Town Alexandria, is a personal favorite that really hits the spot (don’t miss the handmade chocolates-to die for!). The space is not only a sweet little shop filled with unique, gourmet eats, but also a wine bar, bakery, demo kitchen and butchery. Best of all- the space is available to host a variety of events.

The Ritz-Carlton, Georgetown
Last week, I wrote about The Ritz-Carlton, Washington, D.C., the famous Washington venue. Yet, just down the street, there is a lesser known but just a fabulous second property, The Ritz-Carlton, Georgetown.
At the Georgetown location, Fahrenheit Ballroom is available for weddings and it is one of the most unique spaces in the city with loft-like ceilings, exposed steel beams and original red brick walls reminiscent of the hotel’s history as a turn-of-the-century brick factory structure that later served as an incinerator.

The Darlington House
First, congratulations to Cris and Christina, the winners of Wedding Photographer Storyteller, Garret Hubbard’s contest on his blog.
Next, with all of the recent holiday engagements, you may be thinking about the hot spots in town to celebrate. The Darlington House, just off of Dupont Circle, is the perfect venue as it combines elegant style with hip decor.
Matisse!
If you’re looking for that special place for a bridal shower, engagement party, or anniversary dinner, I highly recommend checking out Matisse. Located just north of the Tenleytown area on Wisconsin Avenue, this restaurant is wonderful in more ways than I can count. The service is impeccable. The design is so gorgeous. And the food is unbelievable. It is so chic, so filled with style. We went for brunch on Sunday, and I can’t wait to go back for dinner. This restaurant has been added to my list of D.C. Favorites!
