Romantic Reminiscing – Real Wedding of C + K

June 10, 2015

Who could have guessed that a corporations class and a big bag of books would lead to a mountaintop proposal and a life filled with happiness? Certainly not Caroline and Kyle, but this is exactly what happened in their love story.

The two met when they both were attending George Washington University Law School. Kyle approached Caroline in the gym and asked if she was in his class, although he knew she was because he had helped her lift her huge bag of books over a row of people one day when she was late to class. The bride and groom both said their first impressions of one another occurred when he helped her with her books – Caroline felt embarrassed about the situation, but Kyle said he thought she was adorable because of how flustered she was.

For their first official date, the pair went to Cafe Divan in Georgetown, although they had already spent quality time walking back from the gym and grabbing smoothies together. The two hit it off and dated for four and a half years after Cafe Divan.

In April 2013, Kyle popped the question at Shenandoah National Park. Kyle and their dog Roxy went ahead of Caroline on the hike, and when Caroline reached the top of Hawksbill Summit, he was waiting for her and led her to the overlook, where he proposed. They were engaged for 13 months before being married.

The bride says that her favorite detail in the wedding was the sprigs of lavender that were placed in front of each menu. “They made the room smell magnificent and added a bit of that country garden feel,” she explains. The groom’s favorite wedding detail was the wedding band. “We also did some late night snacks, which I think were a big hit – milkshakes and sliders,” he adds on.

Caroline and Kyle’s wedding, set at St. Regis D.C., had hues of purple, ivory and gold, but the colors were not what lit up the room. The smiles on the bride and groom’s faces were all the lighting that the wedding needed as the couple was clearly excited about their big day and so in love. Even though there was rolling thunder on the day of, there was so much excitement that nothing could put a damper on it. Congratulations to Caroline and Kyle!

The Mrs. Box

September 24, 2014

Color and individuality connect in this unique and limited product. Today, we are sharing the fabulous new Mrs. box, the loveliest collection of ring boxes and a wedding heirloom. The Mrs. Box was born with the love of color and, from there, Summer Watkins Ball decided that it was time to finally replace that boring old ring box. (When did they become so boring?) As the Mrs. Team says “they weren’t always that way, but somewhere down the line these tiny little harbingers of joy were tossed to the wayside and doomed to spend an eternity feeling overweight and dressed in shabby colors. So we decided to change that.”- says, Summer Ball.

Take a look at their unique collection + shop for one of these colorful boxes of joy!
