This is one of my favorite times of the year in D.C. as we celebrate spring time with the annual National Cherry Blossom Festival! As some of you may know, the design of District Weddings was inspired by the beautiful cherry blossoms of Washington. In honor of the Cherry Blossom Festival, today I am sharing with you the wedding of my good friend and jewelry designer, Suzanne Somersall Allis.
Her wedding to high school sweetheart and now Marine husband, Brian, took place outdoors on December 27, 2008 in Okinawa, Japan at a Japanese boutique hotel. Suzanne and Brian moved there from D.C. after Brian was stationed there. How stunning is Suz in Vera Wang Luxe?! And, the native cherry blossoms are just beautiful!
The weather was mild and the setting was breathtaking. An intimate number of family and friends joined Suzanne and Brian for their seaside nuptials.
I know, I know — This looks like a photo shoot, right?
Guests enjoyed endless amounts of fresh sushi and danced to the music of a live japanese-cuban jazz band. The cakes remind me of some of those that we featured by Fancy Cakes by Leslie from here in D.C.
What a beautiful send-off into the night. Later this week, we will be catching up with Suzanne to hear more about her GORGEOUS jewelry designs.
Thanks to photographer Kimberly Mitchell for sharing her incredible photographs!
