Finding a Florist

June 5, 2017

The flowers – an imperative detail of your wedding, one that is going to appear in almost all of your photographs and stand out to your guest more so than a lot of the other expenses you debate about. The important thing to remember when hiring your florist is you want to book someone who gets “you.” There are a number of wonderful and talented florist to choose from, but each have their own style and approach. Here are a few thoughts to remember before signing that contract!

  1. Meet with at least 2-3 florists to compare styles, prices and better understand their specific role
  2. In order to present you with accurate pricing and specific ideas, they will need to know your budget, your numbers and your style. It is great to go in ahead of time with an estimated guest count, rough number of tables and number of personal flowers you will need; including bridesmaids, groomsmen, mothers and grandmothers.
  3. What to bring to your meeting: your idea album. Visual aids always help, especially when it comes to floral design. Also bring a swatch of your bridesmaids dress or any other color you hope to use as an accent. There are so many shaded of blush, it’s best for them to have a tangible swatch to compare to.
