Garden Details

Guest blogger Ashley of The Chic Line brings us delightful garden details – I love spring!

With flowers in bloom and lawn mowers emerging, we are approaching the season of gardener’s delight. Today I’d like to share some whimsical details perfect for a playful backyard reception, or secret garden affair. The best part about a garden wedding is that it will never go out of style. Whether you create a nostalgic fun-filled party with glass soda bottles, croquet, and red and white tablecloths, or a more elegant gathering with peonies and lace, a natural setting is perfect for celebrating a warm-weather marriage.

Vintage postcards and a lilly-of-the-valley bouquet are simple but meaningful details. Have the bridal party take part in the backyard games, shoes optional. Consider a tire swing or sidewalk chalk for kiddo-friendly activities. Chill vintage sodas in a galvenized bucket, and encourage guests to help themselves. Adorn a simple baked-at-home cake with freshly picked blooms, and use family silverware to serve. Flower seeds are always welcomed favors, especially when packaged prettily. Here, fresh lavender is given in a brown paper envelope, stamped and tied with twine.
