Over at Snippet & Ink, Kathryn sets the standard for inspiration boards. Taking a cue from Abby of Style Me Pretty, Kathryn started her blog as a place to showcase cohesive wedding looks. And boy, is she talented!
By combining photos of various elements, an inspiration board creates an overall theme, color palette, and feel for a wedding.
Here are a few of my favorite seasonal inspiration boards from the amazing Kathryn…
“Garden Hydrangea”
“Sun Kissed” (with a fabulous cake by local D.C. baker K. Rose Cakes!)
“Gardenias and Coral”
“Love and Warmth”
These ideas are so inspiring, so gorgeous, and so helpful! By creating a cohesive look for your wedding through an inspiration board, you can begin your planning journey with concrete ideas of what you like, and of how you are envisioning your wedding.
Then, you can bring these ideas with you as you meet with each of your wedding vendors! Your meetings will be more productive, more tailored to exactly what you’re looking for, and you’ll leave with a real sense of accomplishment.
BUT, the hard part — where do you start? How do you make an inspiration board? Where do the pictures come from? Which computer program do you need?
Later today I’ll be back to show you one way to create an inspiration board of ideas, answer all of your questions, and give you as much help as I can. Stay tuned!
