Introducing Bride Blogger Catherine!

This weekend, it is finally Bride Blogger Kimberly’s big day – I know that the wedding weekend is going to be beyond fabulous! Congrats!

Today, I am also super excited to introduce you to our newest bride blogger, Catherine.  After only 2 minutes of meeting her this past summer, I knew that she was the perfect candidate to share her wedding story with our readers – she is adorable, energetic, intelligent and has amazing plans ahead of her! Without further ado, I am pleased to bring you Catherine…

When I first met Danielle earlier this year, I was – of course – late (because of the Metro), flustered (because I was late), sweating (because I was flustered), and overwhelmed (because I was late, flustered, and sweating). I was so excited to meet her and to tell her all about how her blog influenced the details of my upcoming wedding. She didn’t seem to mind the beads of sweat that were slowly dripping down my face, nor did she mind the fact that I was speaking so quickly and extremely enthusiastically.

I have been engaged and a little scattered since last December. Although I work in the development field, planning major events – even one for me – has not always been my area of expertise. I have been told by loved ones and colleagues that I have an atypical combination: the design aesthetic of an elderly woman (I always take this as a compliment) and the worst taste in music (I believe Rick Astley infiltrates your mind because he’s talented). I’m certain that these charming characteristics, among many others, are the reasons why my fiancé is excited to marry me, but not necessarily my best assets for planning a wedding.

After the engagement, I turned to District Weddings for advice because my first thought was “how are we going to pull this off.” The blog led us to many of the vendors that we have hired who will join us to create our dream wedding. I have no doubt that the culmination of months of questions, answers, and decisions will result in a truly amazing special event for our family and friends.

With my new confidence and party planning capability, I want to give back to District Weddings for helping me navigate through the wedding process, a truly remarkable experience. Over the course of the next eight weeks, I’ll share with you some answers to the many questions that I had and…also, I’m going to get married.
