I am so excited to begin our new District Weddings series! Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing a variety of fun and unique themes for…bridal showers!
For all you ladies who have the honorable responsibility of planning a shower for a lovely bride-to-be, it can sometimes be difficult to start your planning and really pull everything together. The bottom line for any shower is that it should be centered around the bride (and possibly groom), and provide a fun-filled day (or weekend) that fits well with her personality and pastimes.
Today, we are featuring an interactive and non-traditional shower for a bride who is looking to serve a specialty drink at her wedding – how about a cocktail class? Invite her best friends and hire a mixologist to teach you step-by-step how to concoct a few specialty cocktails. It is important to still allot time for more traditional aspects of the shower such as gift opening and perhaps a few fun games, but this high-end cocktail party will definitely be a conversational and learning experience for all!
Include a variety of interesting hors d’oeuvres for guests to enjoy while they taste test, and have non-alcoholic drinks available for everyone as well. Most importantly, be sure to take the brides’ drink interests into mind. Is she looking for a seasonal drink to fit her winter wedding? Do the bride and groom both drink a certain alcohol? Have the mixologist add detail with candied ginger or fresh lavender, rimmed martini glasses, or fresh blackberries and raspberries for everyone to mix and muddle. Cheers!
Have you planned or attended any fabulous bridal showers – please share them with us!
