Real Wedding of Tessa and Tom

January 3, 2018

I had a total bridal moment when the church doors opened and it was time for me to walk in.

We love Holy Rosary so much! It is the church that we belong to and have been going to for a few years. It is so beautiful and has such a grand feeling while still being very small. When those doors opened and I saw the church all decorated and everyone staring back at me…it was a feeling I will never forget.

Memorable Moment

One of my favorite moments was when my cousin Jamey sang our first dance song with our rockin’ band, Black Tie.

Hidden, Personal Detail

The details that went unnoticed was most our cookie table. This is a long standing family tradition. While the cookie table goes back longer than anyone in my mom’s family can trace, the actual table, the Lazy Susan itself, is also a family tradition. The table was built as a gift for my parents wedding and has been used in almost every Salvi family wedding since then.

The tradition is that the bride’s family and friends bake all of the cookies to show their support and love for the couple. My family has what type of cookies they are making down to a T. I didn’t even have to ask. As soon as Tom and I got engaged the first thing people said was along the lines of, “Congratulations! Now, we better start baking.”

When I explained our tradition to Tom’s family they jumped right on board – it was amazing! They were as excited about it as my family was. With both of our families and many friends contributing we had over 2,000 cookies! The entire day and night was magical!
