River Farm, in Alexandria, VA, is situated on the Potomac River with one of the most expansive views of any property in the area, making it the perfect place for a garden wedding. Listed with Fairfax County as a 1920’s gentleman’s home, the grounds are one of George Washington’s original five farms and the history of the area is extensive. A perfect combination of historical significance and beauty, I simply adore River Farm.
For the ceremony, the two most popular sites are at the Blue Rose Arbors in the formal gardens and then at the top of the steps leading down into the meadow. The reception may be outside, tented, or in the home.
