Steve & Katie by Ella Foto

When the team at Ella Foto sent me these pictures, my eyes welled up after just one look.  I had never met Steve and Katie, but I shared in their happiness as I poured over these gorgeous images.

The feeling of looking down at a man on his knee proposing to you, knowing you’re about to begin your life together, is a feeling you’ll likely remember forever.  Though if you’re anything like me, you can’t recall the specifics.  The minute I realized what was about to happen, the tears started flowing and, honestly, the rest is a blur.

How wonderful would it be to have pictures of that special moment?  Steve, a brilliant man, thought ahead and called an amazing photographer to capture his proposal to Katie.  Ella Foto did an incredible job of trailing just behind the couple, taking the most beautiful pictures, and documenting this most memorable moment…

From Steve…

The idea to have a photographer in the first place probably isn’t all that original, so I don’t think I can claim any intellectual property rights over it or anything. Really, I just wanted something special for my fiancée and I to remember a moment that will happen once in our lives. It seemed to me that there are so many people out there who spend a lot of time, effort and money to get the wedding right, and in some ways miss out on a special moment altogether.

More from Steve…

Having these photos has been great for both of us. On the one hand, she’s thrilled that her friends get “be there.” They get teary eyed when they see the look in our faces. One person even told me that she wished her husband would look at her like that every once in a while, which I thought was oddly humorous. On the other hand, I’m very happy that I have proof she said yes. Women get a ring and a memory, and at least one of the two is sparkly enough to convince friends and family of the commitment. Men on the other hand don’t have anything other than a good story to tell and, in my case, the disbelief of everyone I know. I’m kidding of course, but it’s really a shame that guys don’t get some sort of special belt or hat or something that says, “Back up ladies… this guy’s taken.”

ella-photo-3How great is Steve?!?  ”Back up ladies…this guy’s taken”…I love it!  He is obviously very thoughtful and incredibly in love with Katie.

Thank you to Ella Foto and Steve & Katie for sharing these amazing photos with us.  We wish you many years of overflowing happiness together!
