Korean Westwood Country Club Wedding

Michelle and Charles were married this past November at Westwood Country Club — and I just love their Korean Wedding Ceremony! Here is a huge dose of pretty to get your week started!

Michelle tells us…

“Initially we had a very modern concept for the wedding, but then we went with the Westwood Country Club which has a very classic feel to it, so we actually ended up going a bit more classical but giving it a little touch of color. I love pink, so we went with pink and felt gray was a nice match. The room has very high ceilings so we wanted flower arrangements that would be elegant and classy but give the room a full feeling, so we felt that dendrobium orchids were the perfect choice.

We chose the Dupont Hotel in Washington, DC to keep the modern element in our wedding. We loved the private lounge on the top floor which we loved for our photos. The groom and the groomsmen got ready at the hotel and I got ready with the bridesmaids at the club lounge of one of my bridesmaids condominium.

Both my husband and I are Korean, which is why it was important to include our culture into our wedding day. We wanted to do the traditional Korean Wedding Ceremony, and decided the best time to do it was during the cocktail hour. It was hectic, but totally worth it. The ceremony is called Paebaek and the husbands parents will throw dates and chesnuts, dates represent daughters and chesnuts represent sons. The bride and groom will try to catch as many dates and chesnuts and the total caught represents how many children they will have. We caught two dates and two chesnuts, so two daughters and two sons for us!”

Andrew Mellon Auditorium Wedding

Hello and happy Monday! Today’s Real Wedding from the delightful SoCo Events includes an adorable couple, Bridget and Ryan, an exquisite venue, Andrew Mellon Auditorium, and thoughtful details – now this is the way I like to start my week!

The bride and her ladies look like they are right out of a photo shoot, simply gorgeous. The fabulous Carine’s Bridal Atelier designed custom bridesmaid dresses for each lady, gowns that you could actually wear again after the wedding – crazy, right?!

I love this moment with Bridget and her father on the way to the church – again, this is such a great shot that it looks like a pre-designged photo shoot. The American flag in the background is so fantastically DC inspired. Jennifer Lust Portrait Design makes me feel like I am actually with them on their big day.

After pronounced husband and wife, Bridget and Ryan are so happy that they look they are going to skip down the aisle.

Here are the elegant rooms shots with the gold chivari chairs, the mix of tall and low neutral arrangements by DaVinci Florist, Laura Hooper Calligraphy on the menus…yes, I am gushing.

How cool is the Notre Dame ice sculpture?! A personal detail that is playful and unique. Then, don’t you just want to get on the dance floor with the bride and groom? Sound Connection by Andy Kushner Entertainment rocked it.
