Top of the Town

Washington, D.C. is a stunning city, from the striking monuments to the Potomac River. What could be better than enjoying all of these views during your D.C. wedding?

Luckily, you can see a gorgeous panoramic view of the city at Top of the Town, located just one block west of the Iwo Jima memorial and just steps from the Rosslyn metro stop.

Top of the Town

One of the best ways to incorporate the lovely city of DC into your wedding is to somehow include the gorgeous and stately monuments – whether as part of a photo shoot, a clever and memorable favor, or, in the case of Top of the Town, a breathtaking backdrop as you say your vows and dance into the night.

Top of the Town, a venue located in Arlington, VA, allows you to host your wedding with the the DC skyline in the background.

Whether looking out the 12-foot windows or from the outdoor terrace, the sweeping panoramic views, including the Kennedy Center, Washington Monument, the Capitol, the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, all the way around to Fort Myer and the new Air For Memorial are breathtaking! I can hear the “oohs” and “ahhs” already!

Couples can choose to host both the ceremony and the reception in Top of the Town’s reception ballroom, which can be divided, if needed, into sections, as well as on the outdoor terrace. Cross your fingers for good weather so that you can dance in celebration as the sun drops, the air chills, and the monuments begin to glow.

Other wonderful aspects of Top of the Town are the beautiful glass enclosed elevator, elegant chandeliers, vaulted ceilings, and its classic, gorgeous décor. Plus, it is centrally located and easily accessible from DC, Maryland, and Virginia, and is only minutes from both the Reagan National Airport and the Rosslyn Metro Station.

District Places: Top of the Town

Last week, we featured Oxon Hill Manor, a beautiful estate in Oxon Hill, Maryland.  Today, we’re going to the other side of the river to Arlington, Virginia.

Top of the Town is an event venue located in the Rosslyn neighborhood of Arlington.  With GORGEOUS panoramic views of the city, Top of the Town is a an incredibly unique spot.  Many have said that Top of the Town offers the absolute BEST views in the city.

Gorgeous, right?  And only 2.60 miles from downtown D.C.!

With so many exciting things going on in the world of D.C. weddings, I don’t usually like to spend much time talking about myself.  But today, I need to tell you a little background story.

My fiance went to the University of Michigan.  And when I say he is a fan, I mean he is like, the biggest, most die-hard fan you have ever met.  Both of his parents AND both of his sisters also went to Michigan, so needless to say, it runs in the family.  Lucky for me.  I went to UVA.  Wahoowa.

Now, it is said that the biggest rivalry in ALL of sports (bigger than Yankees vs. Red Sox, apparently) is Michigan vs. Ohio State.  You have to take a side.   That’s just the way it is.

Okay, whatever, so my little sister’s boyfriend comes from a long line of Ohio State fans.  I still like him.  AND I especially like him because he reads this blog every day.  Yes, that’s right.  He’s a District Weddings fan, and that makes me so incredibly happy.

So, Adam, this wedding is for you.  It took place at our featured District Place, Top of the Town, and well, I think you’ll like it…

Jessica and David were married last July.  To say their wedding was an incredibly fun-filled celebration is an understatement.  Rick Martin, an uber-talented local photographer sent me these fabulous photos… Be sure to check out the amazing view of the city!

And, congratulations, Jessica and David!  I love that your wedding was filled with personality and terrific fun.  But, I must say, Go Blue.
