The Newseum, located at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Sixth Street, N.W., has become an extremely sought-after venue for special events. Boasting spectacular views of quintessential Washington, D.C. landmarks such as the U.S. Capitol, National Gallery of Art, and the National Mall, The Newseum is a fabulous wedding venue because of its unique versatility. As Laine Norton, Special Events Coordinator, so excellently described, “The Newseum is a very unique space—a blank canvas that allows your style and theme to shine through. No two events are ever the same.”
This museum’s exterior is constructed entirely of glass and features many terraces as well. These floor to ceiling windows excellently showcase the breathtaking city views and allow the chosen room décor to truly shine. Who wouldn’t want to get married on top of the city!
You can hold both your ceremony and reception at the Newseum, as there is no shortage of space in this expansive museum. The 7th and 8th floor conference centers are more intimate, accommodating up to 220 guests, while the main exhibit space is much larger. One of the many amazing features exclusive to a Newseum wedding is the rooftop terrace ceremony, which, weather permitting of course, will make your special day truly one of a kind.
The Newseum works exclusively with the internationally acclaimed Wolfgang Puck Catering, but is flexible as far as other vendors are concerned. For more information, contact Laine Norton, Special Events Coordinator, at (202) 292-6254 or lnorton@newseum.org
