An Unforgettable Simultaneous Jewish and Hindu Marriage

July 19, 2017

Where do you begin? When you have so many significant and important moments throughout the night, you start to list your absolute unforgettable favorites. This bright celebration included draping in coral, salmon, and fuchsia chiffon. The room design was warm with lots of candle light.  Mercury vases with candles lined the aisle and centerpieces for the reception giving the room a golden glow.

Susan Brinch & Milan Thakore explain their wedding as Serendipitous. I had the honor of attending, and I couldn’t agree more! We asked the couple what were their favorites throughout the day and here is what they had to say:

Our first look; the weather was perfect, we were both overjoyed with excitement and love and couldn’t keep it together! There was a lot of nervous chatter and some happy tears.

The reciting & signing of the ketubah, the Jewish marriage contract, in front of our Cantor, Pundit and our families, right before the ceremony began

The Baraat, where Milan’s friends and family accompanied him to the venue in a large procession. There was a drummer, dancing and singing and was a celebration of our pending marriage. Milan arrived with his entourage and was met by my parents & grandparents, who blessed him before entering the venue, signaling the beginning of the ceremony.

Walking down the aisle with my parents, while Iain played Fields of Gold on the electric cello

Our entire ceremony, which was a Jewish Hindu fusion, was magical. We spent a lot of time on the ceremony, incorporating our favorite and most meaningful traditions and wrote our own vows, which we barely got through. The pictures capture our emotions perfectly.
