Vintage Wedding Inspiration

Whether to play tribute to a certain era that you love from the past, to include family heirlooms, or simply watch your pennies, vintage just may be the perfect motif for your wedding!

There are several vintage themes from which to choose – and if you follow wedding trends, you have most likely seen one of these “vintage looks” recently. Here at District Weddings, I love “eclectic vintage” (think plenty of flea-market finds and mismatched vintage furniture, accessories, and décor), “glamorous vintage” (think 1920s with vintage cocktails and elbow-length gloves), or “heirloom vintage” (using true, meaningful vintage finds from the attic of your own home).

For eclectic vintage, I adore using mismatched antique chairs for seating, old jars or glass bottles for flowers, a bird cage on display, or maybe even a vintage scarf for decoration…

For glamorous vintage, you may enjoy 1920′s jazz music and while you arrive and depart in style in an antique Rolls Royce…

For that heirloom vintage feel, perhaps your wear your mother’s dress, you display family photos next to the guest book, your mother-in-law’s brooch is on your bouquet

Whether you shop locally at Miss Pixie’s or the Eastern Market weekend flea market on Capitol Hill, browse websites like Etsy or Craigslist or even look in your grandparent’s attic, you are bound to find vintage flair that is right for “your” vintage!

I absolutely love the antique bottles that you have on here! They don’t really go with the theme of my wedding, but I am going to add them to my wishlist on MyRegistry.com anyway. Would love to have them in my guest bathroom at home!! Thank you
